One of the Views in the Gardens in May
"Paradise", "Absolutely incredible", "Very beautiful" were just some of the comments made by our customers last year; our most successful year ever. The Gardens were a fantastic show with the Rhododendrons and Azaleas a riot of colour and the Magnolias coming into their own as they start to mature, the lovely spring weather making it a delight to walk around.
We are constantly changing the Gardens; moving existing plants and continuing with new planting, providing, we believe one of the most comprehensive selections of Rhododendrons in the UK. New varieties such as R. 'Midnight Mystique', R. 'Lemon Dream', R. 'Norfolk Candy' together with some of the favourites such as R. 'Hotei', R. 'Nancy Evans, and R. 'Loderi King George' with its wonderful scent just sold like hot cakes.
Many of our visitors return year after year remarking on how different it is as we plant up new areas and those who return after a couple of weeks are amazed as the succession of Rhododendrons makes for a constant changing, vibrant picture. New planting and further maintenance has been carried out in the Gardens and the Hardy Plant Nursery is bursting with a new stock of Rhododendrons and Perennials.
See our Visitor Information page for full details of opening times and about our Tea Room. Please note the the Gardens are now closed. We look forward to seeing you next year.
